Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersHaving used Conroys to relocate internationally twice in the last decade (most recently early in 2018), they were naturally my first and only port of call when I had to return to Australia with my personal items. I've recommended Conroy to friends and family, who have given Conroy custom off the back of my recommendations.
Third time around, communication has been appalling. It was only after I chased them that I found out my personal items hadnt left on 30th December as communicated when I signed up, and that they wouldnt leave for a month after that. Fast forward to now; I'm eleven weeks into the exercise after completing payment and I'm had to resort to chasing them for updates each week, after being 'threatened' with incurring storage fees from last week - Even though there is still no word on when my items are to be delivered.
In the meantime, delays have had a direct impact on me financially as I'm continuing to pay rent with friends and a mortgage as my belongings to furnish my house are somewhere between NZ and Australia (I assume).
The guys who moved us were fantastic, and the guys who delivered our bed were also fantastic, but everything else was a huge disappointment. Boxes marked Fragile had been squashed, so many of the boxes had gotten wet, and worst of all, we had so much broken gear it was unbelievable. Even the plastic storage bins had the handles broken off. Our furniture was stored in a container, the forklift must have given the whole container a good shake up every time they moved it. The staff are easy to deal with, very helpful, but the care and attention given to your prized possessions is just not there. We would never use or recommend Conroys for storage, maybe moving from one property to another, but never for storage. When we complained the response was, you didn’t take insurance. Not really what you want to hear when you have trusted a company with your personal and household goods.

Admin was great, kept in touch and let us know what was happening.
Dispatch was terrible. 4 unanswered phone calls, when we finally got through they were rude.
Also managed to snap the legs off our dining room table.
The service was really good --apart from one major problem. In the course of the move the headboard of our antique 4 poster bed somehow fell over while being packed inside the truck and broke in half .I can send photos if you'd like to see the extent of the damage. It is probably repairable, but how successfully remains to be seen. We had no insurance cover for the move and in any event believe that the repair cost should be paid by Conroy who were clearly responsible. I would appreciate it if you could confirm this as soon as possible..

A bad experience all round from the first visit to get a quote, to dealing with staff and then not having anyone turn up on the first day booked (Friday) with no phone call to explain why. We had made it very clear to Nathan that we were flying out on the Tuesday at midday, therefore we had to start packing on the Friday.
So no one turned up on the first day booked, on the second day two guys turned up, one with a bad back who had to go off to see a doctor. Less then half our stuffed was packed. On the morning we were leaving again no one turned up. We had to ring Fiona to get any action. A truck load of guys turned up and all our household goods were thrown into the back of the truck to be packed later. Have no idea in what state to expect our goods. From what we understand some of our stuff was left behind and some of our son's stuff was packed.
My impression was, we did not have a full container of household goods but we were charged for it anyway.
The only good thing I can say was Fiona's response was quick and effective.

Was missing my coffee table glass tops and few items are broken.

We booked in this removal on December the 7th and we paid for the service on the same day.
We have4 been told that tipical time would have been roughly a week ( as previous other times we worked with you ).
This is a commercial freezer to be moved from Wellington to Nelson as has been sold to a client.
On the 21st after varios mails and telephone calls we have been informed that we will not receive the item before the new year start.
This lead to the loss of sale.
So 1 is for the service and 0 is for the communication.

It took your employees 8 hours, which you expect us to pay for, to complete a job that should have taken around 3 hours. I will not be using your company again and not recommending you to anyone. I have sent an email about this incident and expect a solution.

Hmmm ... not good to ask for feedback with this fiasco still underway: you managed to email me twice that the shipment was ready for collection: then Peter phoned to set the delivery date, we agreed Tuesday, I asked 'AM or PM' he said 'AM'--so I waited from 8 AM onwards, made multiple phone calls to you before Auckland Dispatch said, "late afternoon". Peter phoned, there had been delays (OK, I can accept that), I choose to have at least a partial delivery that day (since I had been waiting so long). The truck arrived 6 PM and I helped unload the PARTIAL shipment. Today (Friday) I was (by chance) passing the house and there is a Conroy truck waiting for me? Why? No one had told me anything about today's delivery of the remaining shipment--totally disorganized office getting these things to me. The truck guys though are fine and helpful--it is presumably 'Peter' or whoever is setting the delivery schedule who stuffed up so badly--I am currently staying half an hour away from the delivery site, so the truck could have had to go back to Auckland without being unloaded since you had not arranged a time with me. The Australian office was fine, Auckland office has been so underwhelming they have turned me off Conroy completely. I think both David and Gary Conroy need to know this: they are trying to move into the Australian market, the Australian office was fine, super-organized and efficient. The home office here in New Zealand though needs a bit of a kick in the pants or a lesson in communication with clients: to top it off, box 74 seems to be missing still ... I gave a 1 Star here because you didn't offer a negative rating I'm afraid.
Delivery was 3 days later than first stated, then after 5 at night. Bedroom cabinet was damaged as well as electric fan stand was bent. Boxes have been squashed and opened. Fridge has scratches on the sides as well as other parts of wooden furnishings. Have not finished opening big boxes yet to see if every thing is there and intact. Very disappointed in the service I have recieved from Conroys.
