Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersI moved from the Waikato to Nelson, the Auckland branch was helpful - however I was 'looked after' by the Nelson branch. Communication was good until they recieved their money. The only reason I went with conroys is because they told me, in writing, that they could deliver within reasonable time - which is why I went with them. On my delivery date I rung Carolyn from the Nelson branch to get a time of delivery, she told me my gear wasnt in Nelson, she didnt know when it would arrive and she didnt know where it was. I was frustrated as I just wanted answers! She said she would ring around and get back to me with an update. The next day I had to ring her back for answers and she continued with the pre-recorded "your goods are currently in transit" and she still didnt know where my goods were. When I asked why I didnt hear back from her the day before, she went on to tell me she forgot about me and went home. Service from this branch is SHOCKING! I had to ring the Auckland branch to get any answers! Then when ever I called the Nelson office Carolyn would fobb me off to another sales person, and would text instead of calling. Delivery of my goods was 7 days after my expected date, staff were rude and dismissive! I will never use again.
Thank you to the men that moved me ...they were very helpful and pleasant.....and very efficient to say th least.....glad I chose this company....many thanks
My car was delivered damaged and yet I was declined my claim which I paid insurance for. Conroys took no responsibility. Absolutely appalling and disgusting service.
Bad service broken goods no offer of any thing towards repairs and was broken before it left ther warehouse
My experience with your company has been dreadful. My furniture has been scratched, dented and torn. The removal men never put anything back together eg legs on beds or lounge suites. I had to ask for the washing machine to be put in place as they were going to leave it in the middle of the floor! One of the men inparticular was very rude. Very bad sevice. I am in the proces of making a claim for damages, even this sems to be becoming a problem!
Furniture damaged
Poor communication
Items left in cupboards after packers had gone
Furniture damaged, plates broken
Disgusting lanugage from movers
Im very disappointed with the service I received
I’m overly cautious so purchasing insurance was a no brainer. However, you need to read the fine print and check EVERYTHING as they won’t bother to explain that everything but a full service from Conroy’s falls under restricted cover (something I was never told but my totally my fault - always read the fine print). I packed my boxes and everything else was wrapped, packed and shipped by their employees. When it turned up at my new address, the hole in my lounge (which was clearly a result of shoddy moving practices evidenced by the giant hole in the international grade bubble wrap) wasn’t covered by insurance (yes I sent pics of damage to packaging AND pointed it out to the movers when they bought it into the house. They were very apologetic). If not damage such as this, what was I covered for? Basically, flood, fire ot total loss. Lol. This means any damage incurred accidentally, intentionally or through sheer carelessness of THEIR EMPLOYEES won’t be covered.
Yeah, no thanks. My good faith doesn’t extend that far.
In saying all that, up until this ridiculousness it was going ok and going forward they really need to review their insurance processes and explanations. And they really should take more responsibility for employee carelessness with shipments.
We had used Conroy's for a previous shipment and their Auckland branch provided us such good service we requested Conroy's be used for this shipment - do we regret that!
The lack of communication and inability to get hold of anyone in Tauranga has been frustrating to say the least. If it hadn't been for the contacts we had with the Wellington branch who acted as a conduit to getting information to the Tauranga people or they put things into the Tauranga system to get things actioned. Three weeks later we are still waiting for boxes to be removed. We have had to resort to taking some to the local recycling centre due to the fire hazard of all the packaging sitting around. We had attempted to make contact by several phone calls, leaving messages and finally I emailed Wellington. We then did get some guys turn up in a small truck that was largely full and they managed to remove a small amount of the packaging and said they'd be back - that was two weeks ago and we've had no more contact.
We constantly had to chase Conroy's up to see where things were at with our shipment once it arrived in NZ. We were advised the shipment would be moved from Wellington to Tauranga within a day or two of it clearing customs. The Wellington chap couldn't have cared less about what the process was once it got to Tauranga and when we might actually get delivery. For some reason it was going to take 2-3 working days to get it from Wellington to Tauranga where it would be offloaded and reloaded to move to Katikait. In the end, ten days later, we got a call to say delivery was happening on the Monday and it was coming from Wellington. We advised a 40 ft container would not get up our driveway so two separate trucks would be advisable. They arrived with tw0 20 ft containers on a 40ft truck!! Needless to say they couldn't get up the driveway so they had to go to Mt Maunganui (40 mins away) to reload into smaller trucks.
They picked up a day recruit in Mt Maunganui to help with the unload. After he dropped three boxes (including smashing a large terracotta planter) my husband told him to stop and he helped unload. The recruit said 'oops, sorry doesn't matter you have insurance'!! They did help remove cardboard from the larger furniture but come 5pm they clearly could not wait to get out of here and did not help reassemble the few pieces of furniture that needed it - including putting legs on sofas.
Totally unimpressed!
I have used Conroy before and thoroughly recommended them to others but this time it was extremely disappointing. The only positive was the lady who called to the house to give quote. Pleasant and knowledgeable. I had breakages, damage to wooden cabinets, very poor contact and total lack of customer services. Pete the contact I got no response when no one had arrived to pickup after being told it would not be 9.00 am but 11.00. Eventually arrived 12.00
I would like to think I had a bad team and this isn’t the normal Conroys I have experienced in the past but the company needs to know.
The worst moving experience we have ever had. The non-negotiable rule of any removal company is that the customers should be able to have 100% confidence in the honesty of the people who have access every corner of their home and all their belongings. This has not been the case.
From begining to end this was the most appaling level of service I have ever received and I am now putting pen to paper to the Chief Executive to explain this comment
