Dining table damaged. Fragile boxes stacked at bottom of other goods and crushed.. more to come from me. Coffee table damaged. Double bed torn underneath. Wellington men moving me out were horrified at the way my household had been packed on Auckland. The stacking was completely unstable. This is after the men in Auckland also having the wrong goods on their sheet.
Worse than poor. They took a smoko break. One smoked on my daughter's property. Wondered over to the garage (garage door was up) so the smoke billowed into my contents. Wondered over to the truck, back door up, so the smoke billowed into my contents. Went to the wrong house, then tried to tell me they were at 24, there is no letterbox with a number on it. They reversed down the road and then decided to park right across the driveway of my neighbour, she turned up with her 7 wk old baby and had to ask them to move. One was chatting to my daughter, I am not paying $130 p.h. for general chitchat. Goods were unloaded and my washing machine was on the barrow ready to be moved off the ramp to go inside. The WM vs barrow is an uneven distribution of weight and the ramp creates a downward slope, so extra care is required. He grabbed the barrow with both hands and pulled it backwards and the WM fell flat on it's face. I had waived the right to ACCIDENTAL damage, this was NOT accidental damage it was absolute and utter stupididity and carelessness. My insurance company will be in touch. I used Conroys everything I moved. NEVER AGAIN!
I provided an updated phone number once I was here in NZ however it was not updated in your system and the person I had previously listed was still contacted for delivery. I was told in advance the date and time of delivery. The delivery arrived late from the window provided which is understandable. When it did arrive, the truck was quite small and I asked is this all my stuff and they said yes. Started to offload to realise that alot is still missing. I was told by the men to call the dispatching department. I got Pete on the phone and he mentioned that the overflow will arrive the next day. I was quite upset and asked him why I was not communicated this before? I took the day off from my new job and now I need to take another day off for a second delivery? He said we are trying to help you. I told him you are not helping me by bringing the overflow the next day. Pete continued to tell me over and over again "YOU ARE NOT LISTENING TO ME" honestly, he was really not listening to me and I did not want an argument because there is nothing, I can really do over the phone but just request for the delivery on the same day. It was between 12noon-1pm. In a couple of minutes, the person I listed as contact originally called me to say that the overflow will arrive at 3pm. I was quite happy. The men who came with the first lot said that it could be them or some other team that will arrive later they are not sure and left with the empty truck. We waited and waited thinking they are stuck in traffic. At 5pm I called dispatch department again and the gentleman who answered the phone instantly knew who I was and said that he will call me back in 5 mins. I told him let me give you my phone number and he said I have it on file and hung up. I obviously did not hear back. It was 6:30pm still nothing and now when I called no one answered the phone. I have two kids 2yrs, 6yrs Senior Mother and we all waiting in a house of mess and no place to sleep. I then decided it was best to make space and laydown the mattresses that were delivered since it was getting quite late and close to dinner time. At 7:30pm when I was about to get kids in the shower and ready for bed the second delivery arrived. It was very dark outside and raining and we were unable to see any numbers to tally the boxes received. It was windy, rainy and cold and we all had to suffer through it with the door open. My kids by then were losing it.
It’s very unfortunate that my family had to go through this for a service I paid for. They managed to put our beds together. I asked them not to assemble the third bed coz we did not have the space however I asked for them to attach the mirror to the dresser and the did not do it. They said that it was company policy not to do it/ no screw driver. I asked them please tell me which one it is because they did not even secure the bed slats since they did not have a screw driver and told me in NZ they don't do it anyways. I did not want to argue about it because by then it was 9:15pm my kids were crying and the driver kept telling me that he is not supposed to drive the truck after a certain time or else he will get fined.
Honestly words just cannot describe what me and my family went through on that day. My two kids and my senior Mom who kept telling the boys "Thank you very much for all the trouble you guys took and that we don't want to add to your list and want you guys to be home with your family too" I almost cried when she said that because she did not really care of our situation but was worried about them.
There was not enough room on the truck to collect the two items I had paid for, so only one was collected. This meant I had to organise the collection of the left behind item myself. I took photos of the truck when it arrived as soon as the doors were opened and it clearly shows no space left for the fridge/freezer that was left behind and the driver confirmed this.
The whole purpoise in using Conroy's on both Z and Y jobs was to save me time. I paid $180 for each job and I expect a full refund, as I would have collected both Christchurch and Asnburton goods and not just gone for one item at Ashburton.
I was advised by the person the goods were being collected from in Ashburton that only one of the two items was picked up. Your branch necver contacted me and still has not contacted me with any apology or anything.
On original job I also forget to place in the feed back that communication over the job was sub standard to say the least. The Chch branch did eventually call back just before 5 the day the delivery was suppossed to happen, despite earlier promising to call me back straight after lunch, and they said that they would be in Timaru around 7 to 7:30 but would only off load part being mainly the bed, and the rest the next morning. There was no point in that so I asked what was easier for them and they said all in the morning.
I have had no apology or answer from your company at all on my request for refund. Pretty poor considering. I really don’t know what else to say other than I have never received such pooir service from anyone.
I've used Conroys before and had a great experience. I wish I could say the same this time round. The lack of communication was appalling - emails were not responded to and I would always have to ring the contact centre to actually get a response. The problem here was that I was constantly given conflicting information, especially when it came to delivery timeframes. This quickly became stressful as I had to arrange time off work to meet the truck for delivery, but receiving confirmation of when delivery would actually be made was like drawing blood from a stone. I had also requested a few changes be made to my original quote but these were not actioned so I had to confirm they had been made multiple times. There was also issues when the truck arrived to pick up my furntiure. Only ONE person (the driver) showed up to remove the furntiture and pack it into the truck. I had large items of furntiture (bed, couches etc) so my brother-in-law had to help with the loading. This is totally unacceptable - I am paying for this service to be done for me and Conroys should not expect that the customer is able to help. What if it had been an elderly person or pregnant woman at the pick up address and they were physically unable to help the driver load the truck? The only positive feedback I have is that the men who delivered my furniture were friendly and helpful. Otherwise, this was not a pleasant experience and I will not be using Conroys again. Communication and customer service needs to seriously be improved. The whole point of using "professional" furnture removers is to make the whole process easy and stress free however in reality the experience was the exact opposite.
The service l have received was nothing short of disgraceful.
From begining to end this was the most appaling level of service I have ever received and I am now putting pen to paper to the Chief Executive to explain this comment
I moved from the Waikato to Nelson, the Auckland branch was helpful - however I was 'looked after' by the Nelson branch. Communication was good until they recieved their money. The only reason I went with conroys is because they told me, in writing, that they could deliver within reasonable time - which is why I went with them. On my delivery date I rung Carolyn from the Nelson branch to get a time of delivery, she told me my gear wasnt in Nelson, she didnt know when it would arrive and she didnt know where it was. I was frustrated as I just wanted answers! She said she would ring around and get back to me with an update. The next day I had to ring her back for answers and she continued with the pre-recorded "your goods are currently in transit" and she still didnt know where my goods were. When I asked why I didnt hear back from her the day before, she went on to tell me she forgot about me and went home. Service from this branch is SHOCKING! I had to ring the Auckland branch to get any answers! Then when ever I called the Nelson office Carolyn would fobb me off to another sales person, and would text instead of calling. Delivery of my goods was 7 days after my expected date, staff were rude and dismissive! I will never use again.
Thank you to the men that moved me ...they were very helpful and pleasant.....and very efficient to say th least.....glad I chose this company....many thanks
My car was delivered damaged and yet I was declined my claim which I paid insurance for. Conroys took no responsibility. Absolutely appalling and disgusting service.
After we signed up with the salesman, our whole experience with Conroy was HORRIBLE. From having to chase the invoice the day prior to the move to make full pre-payment as per their T&C's, movers asking to use our deodorant on uplift day, follow up emails asking where our items are after a total of 7 weeks since uplift day and the last email saying they will be in touch, Conroy losing 2 of our 12 items and getting the truck drivers to be the ones to tell us (where was the update & apology call from the move manager?), being told that we have to follow up the lost items one week after the delivery of our 10 other items, following up the lost 2 items to be told they have found them but they are waiting for a truck with another job to be in our area to drop off and finally to top it off, our fridge arrived with a missing leg and now wobbles around the place. We are so disapointed by Conroy and would steer anyone away from using their services.
