No communication from one office to another - Auckland and Napier.
Limited communication with customer service....forever chasing things up with them.
What you are told and what actually happens, from one office to another are very different.
Incompetent people.
Customer service great, until after you pay. Confirmation your goods have sailed and then told a few days later they didn't make the ship at all but apparently that's not Conroys fault??
We were extremely dissapointed with our first delivery experience with Conroy. The initial call said that the truck would be arriving at 10am on Friday. At 10.30am we called the depot and asked when the truck would be coming, they said very shortly. At 11.30am no truck had arrived and i called back and was told that they truck was just leaving the Wellington depot and would be there soon. The truck arrived just after 12pm. My wife and I both took the day off work so we could meet the truck and arrange things - if someone had given us a heads up or at the very least had called us to say they were going to be late it would have been nice...instead of us having to call twice.
Upon arrival i'd have to say your guys were very unprofessional. They were banging stuff against the walls and yelling and laughing (we weren't too phased about that) and they nearly dropped our brand new fridge from the back of the truck (Our fridge was subsequently damaged - i understand that this issue was raised with management when the next guys dropped off our stuff). If it wasn't for the great job that the guys did when dropping the gear off we would have been left with a very dissapointing experience.
Two serious issues have arisen. I will send an email this weekend.
I have already submitted feedback, but I just remembered (I can't believe I forgot!) that the floorboards were scratched (40cm long) by Conroy employees when putting a chest of drawers in place. So much damage and little to no recognition of fault. Instead you get referred to a passive aggressive claims guy that clearly has no good faith in settling the damage done and simply tries to avoid paying a dollar. Appalling.
I was invoiced first 2 MEN. Got grandpa and his 12 year old daughter who on arrival had a crack at my partner and made it very uncomfortable for her. Then wouldn't take loads of my possessions due to their perception of poor packaging. The amount they actually moved was minuscule which took the 10+ hours to do on an hourly rate!! My brother and I could have done this with trailers in half that time!! However I have a damaged shoulder hence hiring you guys!! I'm now liable for storage and costs which delayed the new owner of my sold property which I will be discussing with my lawyers about passing this cost onto Conroy's. What should have been a pleasant experience and NO MORE than 4-5hrs work has been the worst moving experience of my life, 10+ hours of MY money and everything left in my garage for me to have to now sort through. Your idiot movers even left stuff in front of my garage door making it extremely difficult to get in!! NOT HAPPY AND CERTAINLY NOT IMPRESSED
Poor communication throughout process. Was not given accurate estimations of when my gear would arrive which makes planning very difficult. At one stage I was told 5-15 days but that was corrected when it was realised I was not living in Auckland despite me not having any business in Auckland and having booked for Christchurch. My consignment was held up in the Covid lockdown which was unfortunate and not Conroy's fault however I received no correspondence during that time. I had moved into a new house so had no household items for that period.
I received more updates from the supermarket where I buy milk and bread during lockdown than I did from the company that was holding all my worldly possessions.
When my furniture arrived it was damaged and of course I have to pay the excess on the insurance, no compensation from Conroys. Have moved twice before with other companies and didn't experience near the level of difficulty that I have with Conroys. Will not use them again and advise others to avoid.
Nice guys BUT a box was dropped and smashed on the corner and all along one end the movers did not advise that this was damaged . Two glass pictures that were packed according to their instructions with bubble wrap then the white picture wrap and bubble wrap agsin inside a solid cardboard sleeve well taped marked with large red print FRAGILE. GLASS were broken. The comozmy eould not accept that these had been packed zccording to their instructions (others packed exactly the same way arrived undamaged) the iinsurance guy for them would not accept that any liability and I tried to point out that their integrity was in question due to the box being dropped and I had not been advised so I had every reason to expect them to accept the claim.This was refused to be acknowledge and that if the crew did not advise of the broken box how can they deny that the pictures may have been damaged by them also. This was logged to my insurers who I had transit insurance with but the repairs were under the excess it is not viable.
All I can say is think twice before you use Conroysv.

Before my things were collected I tried to get in contact with the lady organising it for.me. I called three times and was hung up on. Very unprofessional.
When I filled in my form I selected it to be collected oma. Saturday since I was flying on the Sunday. The lady on the phone assured me that they would collect in Saturday. They never showed up on Saturday which meant I had to waste my whole day and waiting. A call to say they wouldn't make it would have been helpful.
Trying to get into contact was a nightmare. I needed to give my building manager 24 hours notice and told the company this but it was ignored. They turned up when I wasn't home and I had to rush back - no communication of when they would arrive.
I moved a mirror which I bubble wrapped and they stacked things ontop of it breaking it.
The man who delivered my items was helpful and apologetic.
