Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersReally not happy with the service I received from Conroy's I got told it would be no stress instead that's all I got truck was 4 hours late said they would be at home at 10am didn't arrive till 2.30pm no communication with what was going on.
Next day I received a phone call from a friend to let me know that the removal guys had left a decent amount of my property in the shed there was no offer to get it to me as I had moved out of town rung manager of Napier branch left a message with no response from him!
Really was not impressed I thought going local would be a good idea!
Received phone call and email of delivery next day. Drove two hours to delivery destination. 2 hours wait, no show. Made call to office number, no reply to voicemail. 5 hours later,txt no room on truck today. Received phone call 29th December delivery was half an hour away. Had already advised and Conroy agreed delivery now mid January. What an absolutely hopeless organisation.
We were told we'd have a truck to accomodate the whole shipment and a container turned up.
The two Tongan lads were not very careful at all, we saw them dropping stuff and even pushing a large leather sofa down a fire exit which has damaged the right hand corner.
We're still unpacking and have found several well packed fragile items are damaged.
Fridge is also scratched, so a pretty terrible service overall.
When I tried to call the office to chase the crate for a 75 inch TV I couldn't get a respoinse, other than a guy in Napier
Could only communicte with Auckland through the driver.
Booked 2 months in advance, goods picked up on 15th January but didn't leave New Zealand until March due to waiting for container to fill and weren't delivered until April. Items were required for business purposes. if I'd been advised about that potential delay the goods could have been picked up anytime during the 2 month phase they were booked in for so they arrived in the destination within a better timeframe. Apart from that the experience was good so no issues using again.
I used you coming from Sydney to Wellington I'm 2020. but using you from wellington to Gold Coast Australia was not the same. Boxes arrived crushed and torn even ones marked fragile. Chair that I shipped had chips out of them. I was extremely disappointed in having things broken and damaged. The customer service was good but that isn't a big thing when your goods arrive damaged and in poor condition.
I did not choose Conroy, unfortunately your services came as part of Biddulphs services as the New Zealand shipping agent.
After our container arrived in NZ Wellington Port, our Move coordinator said that it would take no more than 10 to 15 working days to arrive at our delivery address.
I was informed that several of my items would need to go through biosceority check. which was arranged, I did how ever raise my concern on how the items would be repackaged after the check as I was worried about damages. Move coordinator assured that this proccess happens on a daily occurance and that the items would be correctly wrapped after the check. unfortunately this did not happen.
After clearing biosecurity checks, 5 days after arrival, Susan then informed me that it would take another 5 working days to be transported from Wellington to Christchurch. where Christchurch depot would then call me and arrange delivery, this proccess would take another 10 to 15 days. contradicting what the move coordinator had mentioned before.
I then recieved a call 7 working days later, asking if my items could be delivered on the day. unfortunately this was not possible as we where at work, but requested that I be given a day or 2 notice before delivery occured.
A few days past, I didnt recieve a call. eventually I took it upon myself to call the call center to check, lucky as the delivery was apparently scheduled for the next day.
Container arrived on time. but unfortunetly it was the correct container number, but inccorrect items loads. the truck and team had to return to the depot as they had no idea where my shipment items where. late that afternoon they arrived with a new container with my items in. With no phone call from the delivery supervisor or managers as to what actually happened and why the incorrect items were delivered and packed. Luckery everything was accounted for but the repackaging of the biosceurity checked item was terrible. it was rewraped with a single biosecurity tape with all box contents exposed and open to damages. there were several scratches on these items. but I have decided rather not to follow the proccess of claiming for damages as past histroy dealing with this company as been terrible.
Thought they had been very careful. Until we found the damaged items. We paricukarly mentioned very fragile antiques and a very special Wurlitzer Juke box. My father went into hospital on that day after a serious accident and I couldn't be present. Incredibly dissapointing. Yes we had our own insurance but these pieces are not replaceable and finding somone to fix them impossible at this point. Not impressed with how they handled them at all. When they left I thanked them for their care and attention. We then discovered the damage as we sorted the furniture. Including damage to our brand new house, sliding door frame. Slamming through with a huge chair over his head. Taking a chunk of the wood. Very upset indeed. I was told you had protective covers. I dont even think they were used. I saw with my own eyes as I was leaving one if the antique chairs picked up by a leg. It is now in several pieces. Chest if drawers with a broken handle which I know was not broken when they picked it up.
Our house lot was packed and picked up from Flaxmere NZ 28 Nov 2023. It never left the country till January 27 2024. Arrived in Brisbane 3 Feb 2024. Cleared Customs and Quarantine by 24 Feb 2024. It is still sitting in Conroy's yard in Caboolture Brisbane.
We paid over $20000 for this service and it is still to be delivered.
We have sat in our house with nothing. We used Conroys to move us from Aus to NZ Dec 2021 and it took 6wks but communication was good. This time poor.
Absolutely no care taken whatsoever
Our experience with Conroy has been a nightmare.
Damaged items, poor communication, significant delays, cigarette butts packed in our belongings, open pocket knife in our belongings, items were missed, including a whole kitchen cupboard and a new expensive vacuum, items were packed which were clearly marked not to be. Not only that, the uplift team was inadequate and the truck was faulty, meaning the staff complained the whole time. The two removalists that unloaded us in Australia were lovely and helpful.

The truck was 1.5 hours late arriving to the pick up location (storage), which incurred significant wasted time on a very busy day.
Several items have been damaged and a granparents, treasured oak dressing table was dropped landing on the front of the drawers.
I have used Conroys several times in the past and the service has always been exceptional. Staff have been friendly and helpful. This current experience was very disappointing.
Office ladies and the 3 men who picked my belongings up were fantastic. However the 2 men who delivered my belongings to the destination were awful, they never introduced themselves and one guy complained the whole time. My belongings got transferred from a container to a truck and it was stacked terribly in the truck for a table to come off with a broken leg, all my plastic containers were smashed, I was told my dressing table was crap my bbq was upside down and the lid is now wobbly, my nanas heirloom couch is stained nothing was treated with respect and love for a door to door service at the other end. A shame after the awesome experience I received at the start.
