No one in the company took responsibilty or appeared concerned. A nightmare company to deal with from start to finish, this includes owners of the company. Insurance was pathetic when you read the fine print and you are not really covered. Would never deal with this company and would suggest everyone STAY AWAY FROM THEM.
First lot I sent was no problem so far.
Second lot I sent has been a desaster, It took nearly 2 months to get the insurance for the shipment sorted as the description on the paper work was nothing to what was written on the box. All of the items were very damaged and I am still trying to get the insurance for it and Mike is being very hard to deal with, I have filled in the claim, atached photos and quotes, no I dea what the problem is as you can see clear as day what the damage is. so so so disapointed.
I was disappointed by the lack of communication in the lead up to and during the move. There was very little communication about when my things would arrive in Auckland, and it was left to me to contact the centre to try and find out.
I was also exceedingly frustrated that the movers in Wellington did not bring plastic wrap for my bed. When I asked why, they said that their boss hadn't told them that they were picking up a bed. I clearly listed this on my quote. When my possessions arrived in Auckland, my bed was dirty and damaged, and this is because there was no plastic wrap.
When my items arrived in Auckland, I was informed by one of the furniture movers that one of my mirrors "didn't make it". After being initially told that it somehow didn't make the trip to Auckland from Napier, I then found out 5 minutes later that the mirror was, in fact, broken. I am confused as to why the mirror wasn't wrapped carefully and properly to prevent its damage. I was angered by the blatant lying and unclear communication.
I found this experience incredibly distressing.
Very very disappointing to say the least. I would never use Conroys again, and never recommend them to anyone else. The workers we met were all really nice, but they are let down by second-rate vehicles and poor management. Lots of our furniture/personal items got soaking wet and flood damaged (despite the weather being fine on both pick up and delivery, so flood happened in transit). An old family photograph is ruined, oak furniture is water damage and many many items have had to be dried out. We are in temporary accommodation, so had planned to leave about half the boxes in storage, but have instead have had to open and check every box, and dry out affected items. The smell of wet rugs etc is awful. Conroys also changed our pick up time from 8am to 11am without telling us. This caused much stress and numerous telephone calls trying to find out why the movers hadn't arrived. This created a potential problem, as cleaners were due at 1pm. No one would take responsibility, and kept saying "someone should have called you" as if this made it ok. However, once I threatened to complain, they did pull out all the stops and got us moved out very fast, enabling the cleaners to come in more or less as planned. Several pieces of furniture got chipped, and boxes marked fragile were found upside down/partially crushed, however surprisingly, there was only one item that got smashed. We're exhausted with all the extra work from water damage and gutted that our precious household items have been treated with so little care.
Worst service ever. I have moved with multiple companies in and around 3 different countries and this was by far the worst service. some very rude staff (not all) lots of damaged furniture and items.
My 100year antique was delivered damaged. No care whatsoever. Blankets in truck were not used. $4000 antique ruined.
absolutely shocking from start to finish.
Started off great. I had excellent service from MaryAnne during what was a very frustrating time with the Covid lockdown. I had very confusing emails from a lady who didn't really answer my questions but was quick to send repeated invoices with half arsed explanations on what forms needed to be filled in. As a company it would be prudent if you would simplify the forms for people who have paid in advance. The lady could use some training on handling customer queries.I did make a point of asking when I had to reschedule our move due to the level restrictions if it was possible to move it again without issues, and was reassured over the phone, that it was best to make a date ASAP so it would be easier to change later on. When I emailed to do that after the second delay with lockdown I got a frustrated call from someone, who literally growled on the phone at me, after I explained how having to push our move date even further would cost my husband his job, and that his call was causing me to be late for a Zoom meeting. His attitude was belittling and rude. Would not recommend your service to anyone. I got far better assistance from other movers in the area, who were readily available to help us, even with the level 3 delays, and didn't make any guttural grunts at us on the phone.
Worse than terrible. Your people damaged much of my furniture and I have complained with no resolution. I will also be posting my experience and am telling many people don't use
