Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersI found the removers to be quite unfriendly at first. They were also rude to my flatmate who was trying to back out from his car space not long after they'd pulled up (which was also significantly later than the estimated time despite me confirming half an hour before that they would be there at the originally stated time. No apologies or explanations were given). By the end they seemed to warm up a bit and were more friendly, which was really nice. I do sometimes worry about the way they carry some larger items by themselves rather than doing it as a team. Mostly worried about if they might injure themselves but also nervous about damage to the furniture (though overall they did well).
Great service. Guys were courteous and professional. Would recommend to others.
Hello, Conroys. My move went very well, thank you. It would have been even better had there been more communication about the likely arrival time of the truck for pick-up in Wellington and again in Christchurch. The actual time didn't matter, but I wanted to let the neighbours to know when to move their cars out etc. An estimate the day before, and then some communication when the situation changed, would have been really helpful.
I also ticked 'Packing' for improvement, just because I think that it would have been better to send two packers. My packer worked really hard all day and didn't quite get finished. The two things that were broken (a cup and a glass, not that they really mattered) were packed hurriedly on the day of uplift.
I did wonder if the guys could have made better use of equipment to protect their backs etc. I don't know what, but it did look like really hard work, and they weren't taking breaks except when I got them to stop to eat and drink.
On the whole, though, I was pleased with the way the move went. Administration was excellent. The removal men were consistently courteous and helpful, even towards a rude tradesperson who was in a hurry to get through.

Unfortunately I did not enjoy my experience, honestly it was poor service. I was charged an extra hour and the removal boys stood around a lot. They had no professional communication and they also backed into my new neighbors roof and could not apologise to my neighbour which I am trying to organise to get fixed from my own pocket. I was refunded the extra hour I was charged but no compensation. Only because I rang and complained about the extra charges. I had to stand my ground and then they agreed that I was correct and apologised.
I was very happy with how the ladies packed up our place on Thursday and initially was very happy with the movers on Friday. However I was notified by someone in your office at 1:43pm that one of the drivers had a medical appointment that they needed to attend. I was happy for the truck (which had been fully packed by this point) to leave and for another truck to attend to uplift the remainder of our goods which couldn't fit into the original truck. Two and a half hours and four phone calls later both trucks finally returned. The relocation between the two houses is only a five minute drive. In future, perhaps staff that have appointments during the day could remain onsite at your facility. And a huge improvement with your communication would be appreciated. Waiting at the new house and wondering where in Auckland my household items are is not helpful on moving day. And I shouldn't have had to make so many chase up calls to find out what was going on.
The teams we had experience with were very good. they were polite and friendly. The packing guys Jeff and Hux did a great job in spite of the lengthy day - we had 32 years in one place so had lots of stuff. The removal the following day went very well with the same team plus Jay, with a small pickup of overflow items later in the day. Move in day two days later also went smoothly with Jay and Jarrod.
While we are aware we did have a lot of kitchen stuff the labelling of the boxes as to contents could have been a little more explicit - it took us 4 days and 27 boxes to find the toaster for example. All boxes from the kitchen with a few exceptions (preserves and food) were simply labelled KWARE which turns the whole process into a lucky dip. other than that the packing was excellent and we have found no breakages or other damage. (this comment would not fit in the 'other' section below.)
Notified Conroys a month prior to the delivery date of my furniture and was disappointed that delivery was delayed due to an oversight. Did not receive email confirming delivery and time had to chase this up myself. No compensation of any description offered for delivery oversight. The delivery guys who delivered my furniture in the end were fantastic and are a credit to conroys. A good company to work with just some glitches that need ironing out.
