Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersOverall a mixed experience. I had ordered full packing and moving services from them. Customer service was very good. Quote was very reasonable and they were flexible with dates. Throughout the process, communication was generally excellent.
Covid meant that there were massive delays and massive additional expenses that I, the customer, had to pay and accept without challenge. The delay meant that instead of 55-60 days, as originally estimated, it took 140 days. The delay was global and hard to avoid, I imagine.
Upon delivery, mostly everything was intact and as expected. However there was one glass tabletop that was smashed as it was not packaged correctly by the movers in Auckland. Additionally, when wrapping our furniture, they taped directly onto the items so we now have permanent adhesive marks on several pieces. I was diligent in taking a video of every single item that was to be packed just before the movers began working and, unfortunately, some items have disappeared. They were set to be packed, but never arrived. Customer service stopped communicating with me when I raised this issue and only offered that the missing items must still be at the old address. As we were moving overseas, the house was completely emptied and there is no chance they were left there after the movers were done. We did a walk through ourselves and confirmed with the movers that nothing was left behind.
Unfortunately because of the excess attached to the insurance policy, I was unable to actually recover any of these damages/losses. I really wanted to give these guys a glowing review, but alas it wasn't meant to be. Can't give full marks with damage and missing items.
It all started off really good. Fair price, good communication and nice people to deal with etc. then it all seemed to unravel. There was a delay in picking up the goods then truck couldn't collect the goods due to it's size, then I was asked to pay an additional $300 even though there was no change to the specifications in the original quote. Now I'm being asked to compete this customer survey and I still haven't received the goods! It's at the depot waiting for a different truck to arrive to deliver it to our home address...!
Boxes were missed labeled, Couldn't fine most things as what was written on the box was not what was inside. Appliances didn't have cords or screws together same with lamp shades. What I thought by having you pack everything was going to be easy has been a nightmare.
We did not employ Conroy removals rather Marlborough Moving contracted them , the truck and trailer so it would be difficult to review Conroy's service other than the truck delivered to us as asked.

Compared to other moving companies that could move me across country, the price was very reasonable. The crews at both ends were efficient and courteous. With this move occurring over two days, ie pick up on Tuesday and delivery on Wednesday, something happened overnight. As when my things arrived some items were trashed. My grandmother's drop leaf dining table had two of the metal casters snapped off, my mother's typing table was broken, large plastic tubs demolished, a new sofa had the fabric underneath ripped, this is all that I have discovered thus far. These things are not worth much, but are irreplaceable. I've moved over 42 times in my life time, 4 of these moves to different countries, never have I experienced this level of damage.
Right from my initial contact the communucation was fantastic,at every stage of the move i got emails telling me where and when my stuff was.

We had no problems with the team of 3 guys that came to load the truck. Very efficient, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend conroys to family and friends.
It felt like it was a chore that the company had to move my stuff. On pick up they arrived a day early. Upon then on delivery I arranged for the company to arrive by a certain time and when they did not and I rang to arrange a new time they were really short with me about arranging a new time as if it was my fault they didn't turn up when arranged. When they did delivery one of my items was broken (lid to the one of the plastic tubs). The delivery person complained about having to move the items inside and knocked a light which broke while moving items inside. Overall a very negative experience.
Hi, Generally my experience was great. There were only a couple of issues. We couldn't get the office to recognise that Janet Rothwell and I were sisters with different addresses and contact details. It ultimately didn't matter as we both live in Brisbane and I would just send the text messages and emails I received that were for her on to her. Luckily the delivery person was wonderful and he recognised that there was a different delivery address and I was able to confirm everything with him.
Secondly, the amount I was charged was rather eye-watering for 3 boxes. Especially as my sister was charged the same and she had more to ship. So, I would probably get several quotes before using you again.
But, on the positive side, your packers at the NZ end and delivery at this end were great and your communication (ie keeping me up to date with where things were at) was very good.
