From start to finish was nothing but a nightmare, started with the two guys who Conroy's sent to pack our stuff, nothing short of amateurs, didn't know what they were doing as shown by how much stuff turned up damaged upon arrival at our new place in Australia . Worst of all we signed paperwork at our place as to how many boxes had been loaded onto the truck, not knowing how many boxes were loaded as we didn't load the truck but as good faith as to what they had said. We were told it should take up to 6 weeks to turn up in Australia from NZ , this turned into over 9 weeks, which in turn meant we were in our new place for 4 weeks with nothing but what we had packed in our suitcases. When our stuff finally turned up from Conroy's in Australia, which we will add did a very good job of getting our stuff to us as soon as they could, which we really appreciated, we found several items that were damaged and worse, items that had not turned up at all. My wife and I had the job of ticking off the boxes as they came of the truck and this all matched up with the paperwork, however apon unpacking our stuff we noticed several items were missing, so we contacted Conroy's in NZ to ask if there were any boxes left over unmarked from the shift, this is where the communication was very unsatisfactory, we got passed around to different people who couldn't tell us anything, but what was most annoying was we kept having to chase them up to try and get answers, finally we got and answer saying we ticked off our stuff and it matched the paperwork ( which we didn't deny ) so basically saying that they packed everything at the house and we got everything. Some of the missing stuff was put into the garage to make it easier for the movers to pack up, when the truck left ,the garage was empty, so I could park my car back in there, we also stayed at our place for a further 3 weeks after everything was packed (We ran a motel so had to carry on to the new owners took over ) so would've noticed anything left behind and contacted Conroy's.Well I'm sorry Conroy's everything had been packed, the house and shed were empty, also some stuff that went missing had sentimental value and couldn't be replaced. So the only conclusion we can make is that someone at Conroy's helped themselves to our stuff, and that Conroy's NZ couldn't care less. We are the first of family and friends from NZ that have moved to Australia and will be advising our friends and family not to use Conroy's when they move over. Very poor service from a international company in NZ.
Excellent service
Excellent service through the quote and engagement process, unfortunately let down by communication about pick up and drop off times as I had to chase this up. Truck arrived 1 hour 15 mins late on pick up. Our couch got really dirty on route so fortunate that it had slip covers so we could wash it. The guys who did the moving were great. I thought the price was reasonable and wish I could have given 5 stars to what was an overall good experience. I have recommended Conroy to others. So, better communication from the operational side of the business would help with customer satisfaction. Thanks very much.

The packing and uplift in New Plymouth went well. The delivery in Picton went ok. I was very disappointed to discover on delivery that my desk had lost a leg and my clothes airer had also been broken. I will be sending pictures to Conroy shortly. This ruined my experience, which had been awesome up until then. It would also be helpful if the delivery truck was fitted with a lift at the back the same as the truck that collected our belongings. Would have made it easer for the delivery guys.

As with any removal of items from a house, there is a pickup and delivery time. I did not want to know the exact time but it would help if someone could be more closer to the approx time. We were told the pickup was at 2:30pm and the truck turned up at 4:45 pm. Apparently the truck does not have any communication with the office, which makes it hard for the office to contact the truck. There is no cellphone in the truck we were told. We need to be avaialble for the truck to have access to sites so I thought we would get an update when the truck would arrive.

Seven broken glasses, a broken planter pot and one damaged dining chair (to date - we're still unpacking).. Not a bad result, considering two containers' worth of property was moved. The delivery team were disappointed at the result and commented that, with a mix of plastic storage bins and cardboard boxes, the bins should have been on the top, not bottom. Some of the lighter cartons marked fragile appear to have been mid-or-bottom stowed contributing to the damaged glassware.
Communication was our main issue. We were promised phone calls to advise pick-up and delivery times (or approximations at least). None of this occurred. As I was working through this period, this left us with missed meetings and frustrated customers. The communications could have been much, much better. If you promise a phone call, then make it.

Conroy was recommended from a friend who used them recently for her move to Hokitika. The online support has been fantastic. The delivery team in Nelson were efficient, careful and really great guys. It has been a pleasure to deal with Conroy.
