When we moved to Hawkes Bay in 2012 we were very impressed by the efficiency and service we received from Conroy and consequently recomended them to all.

As a result we automatically went back to Conroy's to move us back to Canterbury but this time we are disappointed. The packing was not sufficient to protect items and several pieces of furniture have minor scapes and dents which are not worth repairing, but will always be there. Several items were not cataloged and when the household was unloaded there were a few other clients items among ours. Four larger items were broken which we will be claiming for when we can find a similar item to get a price. It is understandable that the remaining space in the container should be utilised when shipping from one island to the other, but it appears that most breakage was caused by lack of care when loading on top of ours. All the smaller items wrapped and placed in boxes were well done without any breakages. The workshop items were all ticked off on the wrong schedule when delivered. Consequently we are disappointed that the standard was not up to our first move.

I was in high trepidation about moving from Australia to NZ during the pandemic. I expected massive delays, extra port charges, lockdown-related delivery hold-ups. I even expected loss and damage. But I need not have feared. My items were collected from Melbourne in August (after I had flown out) and delivered safely to my new abode in Red Beach during lockdown in October. (whereas my uncle, moving with another company, waited 7 months for his arrival!)  John in Melbourne and Colin in Auckland were almost like the same guy - extremely helpful and reassuring with an answer to all my probing concerns. The admin staff came through with regular email communciation, and were great at helping me with customs forms.  The delivery guys maintained all the Covid protocols and I was impressed by how carefully they handled my furniture, and gently placed my boxes in my new home.  All furniture was well-wrapped. Nothing was damaged, and a portable aircond unit was the only thing that went astray (left behind accidentally at biosecurity) - it was quickly recovered and delivered to me the next day, with prompt phone calls to let me know.  The cost of my move was reasonable and I was informed there would be no unwanted port charges as the potential for these had been absorbed into the overall cost, which seemed very fair to me.  I don't plan to move internationally again, but I would happily recommend Conroys to anyone who is!
