I was disappointed by the lack of communication in the lead up to and during the move. There was very little communication about when my things would arrive in Auckland, and it was left to me to contact the centre to try and find out.
I was also exceedingly frustrated that the movers in Wellington did not bring plastic wrap for my bed. When I asked why, they said that their boss hadn't told them that they were picking up a bed. I clearly listed this on my quote. When my possessions arrived in Auckland, my bed was dirty and damaged, and this is because there was no plastic wrap.
When my items arrived in Auckland, I was informed by one of the furniture movers that one of my mirrors "didn't make it". After being initially told that it somehow didn't make the trip to Auckland from Napier, I then found out 5 minutes later that the mirror was, in fact, broken. I am confused as to why the mirror wasn't wrapped carefully and properly to prevent its damage. I was angered by the blatant lying and unclear communication.
I found this experience incredibly distressing.
Good communication and service
Disappointed that I was told my paintings would be wrapped and they weren't. One is ripped beyond repair and a few others are scraped and will need repairing. it would be good to have more communication from operations re pickup and delivery times.
very impressed with the packing service from the crew in Auckland done an amazing job.
the guys who delivered had issues with there tail lift and one of the guys was nearly injured. could have been a potential dissater. recommend getting that fixed asap.
Thanks heaps to the team - it was a huge job and they worked solidly hard all day and even after over 6 hours took the time to carry each box and item of furniture to correct room in new house.
Pick up process was fine, but no communication around delivery date, I had to call multiple times. Also didn't bring everything for delivery the first time, and weren't aware of what had been left behind.
Quote and verbal communication from MaryAnne Fernandez SUPERB. A great introduction. We paid immediately (we thought) but Sally Sok had to send us a friendly reminder since our bank hadn't done the job. Our apologies. We appreciated her follow up and the Conroy "to do list". The move consisted of household items from a 2 person 2 bedroom flat; not a big load..
The quote and discussion with MaryAnne indicated a volume check would take place and we appreciated the flexibility offerred. We were quoted to include a fridge, a washing machine and 2 bicycles. Eventually we actually did not move the washing machine, fridge or 1 bike. Fortunately perhaps, I brought the expensive bike to Napier myself. We added a few pieces such as heater and ironing board so perhaps the volume check evened out..who knows?
Upon receipt of our items in Napier we were dismayed at the damage caused by evidentally rough handling. I have photos of the following damage.
A gouge in the top of a rimu dresser ( I have a pre move photo of an unmarked dresser).
A bent back drawer handle on which I will have to repair by grinding back the attaching screw and maybe tap a new thread and obtain a new screw.
Torn bed base fabric (underneath).
We have moved numerous times over the years (with Conroys and others) with full household lots and have never experienced this amount of damage which is indicative of careless rough handling. Dollars are not the issue but just the carelessness of the removers. Disappointing.
Your phone system didn't work and in the end a nice man in Wellington helped me. The bed was picked up and took 6 days to be delivered. I rang up to see where it was and had a good conversation with operations in Napier. Came right on time although drivers had wrong address. I saw them trying to back down a very tricky wrong drive so I rescued them. They were v pleasant.
Everything went to plan this time except the truck badly damaged our new letterbox backing up driveway. Conroys wasted no time contacting us about it and paying for a new one.
Outstanding service by all...the packers, loaders and unloaders. All introduced themselves and worked professionally, nothing was a problem.
