Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersI have used your company several times, and would again. However this time was not 100%, for the following reasons. Our load was split into two, each load going to a different destination in the same area. Because of this I did the packing, which was the first time I'd done this (usually got you to do it). I labelled the two lots of boxes for different destinations with coloured stickers, and you also randomly put a few stickers on, but not on everything and as the loads moved from truck to truck they weren't kept separate and got mixed up, so the delivery people had a difficult time of it. The big items such as furniture weren't wrapped or labelled at all as I assumed you would label them as you have in the past, and so the deliverers had no idea of what went where.
We have lost a concrete pedestal from a birdbath, which I am trying to chase up. Hard thing to lose one would have thought, again the reloading from truck to truck would have had an impact, I think that the Auckland guys should have ensured everything was labelled because of this.
The loading documentation was very incomplete. One destination said something like a box and a bag of blankets, and there were many more items than that, again no helpful for the deliverers.
We were not given a date for delivery, which made it difficult to know when to move my mother into her new home. They were small loads as my mother was downsizing, however it seemed difficult to organise a truck going in the right direction from Wellington as it had to go with other loads. If we had had to move in on a certain day this would have caused a lot of problem.
The workers on the ground were nice people, and did their work efficiently. The job needed better overall organisation is my conclusion.
Such a smooth process and I'm really, really impressed and so grateful. In particular I want to mention the guys who came to uplift my property from Oakdale Road. Taylor, Shay and Jacob were such great guys. Smiles on faces; polite; friendly; efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much Conroy's!
Everything with my move was just great until the delivery truck took out my neighbour's letterbox. Despite the driver stopping and inspecting the damage, I've made multiple calls, filled out a claim form; here we are four days later and I've heard nothing and the letterbox is still in pieces waiting to be replaced. A letterbox is essential and this needed to be dealt with as a matter of urgency and with a huge apology to my neighbour. Apart from this incident, my move went very smoothly and I would have had high praise indeed. Sadly, one stupid act, and a lack of care in putting it right, has soured this experience. You still have a chance to come through and replace that letterbox today to redeem yourselves!!
The best service we have ever experienced. So professional, these guys really know what their doing! Fast, efficient, courteous & very professional. We are so glad we moved with Conroys!

Great team and very professional
Because of the unusual circumstances re borders and travel there has been a delay with my shipment because the airline cancelled my flight. I was not informed that, if this occurred, my shipment would not leave NZ. Consequently it is now in Conroy's Storage which is costing me extra. I am not completely happy with this aspect of the service I have received. If I had been informed this would happen I probably would have delayed pick up until I can book a new flight.
Poor packing at Napier end. Contract was to bag everything...this did not happen. When unloaded at destination to go into storage these guys had to wrap scurly and bag, this is when we discovered broken glass.
Have emailed head office re being happy about service and put in a claim. When eventually an email came through the first name was Nino....not my name, can't even get the right.
At no time was I told that I would have to pay Excess if I made a claim, and the list goes on.
Boys at Tauranga, Kobie and Alfie, especially were A11. It be a good idea if he was in a position to train your Napier labourers, because you couldn't call them professional Packers and removers.
Glass table top broken, when unpacked at arrival, Conroy not prepared to cover full cost of replacement.
Positive points:
- Thorough quoting and estimation of items/capacity. Frank was really pleasant to deal with.
- Really appreicated the flexibility in dates and able to change as our circumstances did. Quick refund on the storage which was no longer required.
- The packing and moving team were a super great bunch of people, extremely friendly and positive throughout.
Things to improve:
- On pickup, there was a deep scrape put into the wall down the stairs which we'll need to repair.
- Over abundance of packing material. Very small kitchen items (even some unbreakable) were wrapped individually in paper. It took much much longer to unpack and unwrap everything and we have a huge amount of packing material to dispose of. Also inefficient of actual packing, boxes could have been filled more in items and less packing paper.
- Few damages to items, we'll need to replace a desk which had a large dent. Plus scrapes/dents to 2x tables and outdoor chairs.
