Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersI was happy with customer service and arranging the pack up etc as I was not able to be there myself. The transit time and delivery people were fantastic but now I have unpacked I am not happy.
Valuable ceramics were packed with other hard things such as a side table, one is broken. A wet outdoor basket was packed on top of white bed linen which is now mouldy.
Clothing on coat hangers was not packed in the usual 'hanging' boxes that I have seen for previous removals, and has all arrived crushed.
Large boxes were packed with a range of large and small loose items ie a PC hub was unwrapped and in the bottom of a box also containing cosmetics, bathroom items
and a small side table meaning it was under many items. Odd!

Recently retired we decided to move from Auckland to settle in Dargaville. Due to our age and the necessity to move a large home we approached several moving companies for quotes. While similar in value, others were abandoned in favour of Conroy who appeared most professional.
We duly showed its representative about the home, walking from top to bottom floor on a video call. A list of items was sent to us for confirmation. This inventory was later adjusted up to include more plants and a large painting. Before moving day we phoned to remove/add items and was told there had to be some flexibility and there’d be no additional charge for missed items as the bulk had been essentially accounted for.
On 06/01/2022, we received an email confirming truck/men would arrive at 0830 hours. They didn’t arrive until 1100 hours. From then we often heard the movers mention how they considered the job had been underquoted. Due to the size and scale of the job we were expecting a larger team. Toward the end of the packing job others arrived to assist.
On 11/01/2022, our possessions were delivered from about 1000 hours.
In the end we were not impressed by the mens attitudes and were glad to see the back of them.
The following day while unpacking we discovered multiple damages which included many broken ceramic plant pots, a wooden panel off a wardrobe, a draw from a mid century side table smashed, another badly damaged, an expensive mechanical drawing board arm also damaged beyond use, and a stereo speaker along with the more expected various crockery. Annoyingly, we were not told of any of the breakages at any time and left to find them as we unpacked. Some of these items appeared to have been deliberately hidden. At no time did any person from Conroy mention any damage had occurred.
In summary, although this was a challenging move with lots of stairs at one end, your team seemed ill-equipped.
we were keen to use Conroys again as we had such a good experiance when we moved to Paihia but this time has been very disappointing. the two who packed the container to come back were very rough,the young boy threw the furniture on top of everything without proper stacking it and then piled laders and garden tools over that it was a shambles.. the guy in charge (Mick) had a stuffed back and was in a hurry and didnt seem to care.As a result a lot of scratches and gouges have marked our bookcases TVs repacked into boxes they left Paihia in blankets and parts like a new stand was in one of the boxes when it got here as well as the old one. .the stand on the 65inch was damaged and couldnt be used ,as a result we have bought new TVs .one computer table has cracks and gouges out of it. As the people at this end opened the container the BBQ fell out ,we have yet to try this to see if it works. They were disgusted with how things were packed They were both called Steve and they said they should have taken a photo as it as badly packed as they had seen. There wer not enough people at either end to do the job properly .I did as much work as Mick and I was stuffed I am 72 years old and paid to have the job done by professionals this did not happen!!
My goods cleared US customs last December, and I still have not received them. Conroys US counterparts are now demanding an extra $112 because my goods were left on the dock for a month after clearing customs. Initially Conroys were very patient when I didn't know how to fill out the forms, but then made a bunch of small errors, for which I never received acknowledgement let alone an apology. When I questioned the charges and insisted that I shouldn't have to pay, since it was not my mistake, they denied any mistakes were made at all, even though I showed them copies of the emails dating back six months ago when my goods were first collected. I have no doubt Conroy will not want to work with me again, and the feeling is very mutual.
The crew arrived on time, were friendly and worked hard. They gave advice where needed and moved some rather awkward items without prior warning. No complaints.
The teams that did the packup, pickup & delivery were awesome. Quality of the packing left me confident everything would travel interisland without damage, & while it iwll be a while yet before I unpack the boxes, the large items all arrived undamanged :)
My only area of concern was what I felt was a lack of contact from the admin team prior to date of pickup. Once the date was secured I heard nothing further & had to followup myself to confirm the details for collection date, which was slightly stressful when working to a timeline that didn't leave much wiggle room.
All the guys were great. No problems. Convoys did everything to make sure we got our furniture next day after the hold up we had. Wonderful service
The pick up on Friday afternoon collected most items , just a table and bookcase left behind because not enough room.
The guys said that they would return soon to collect it.
3 hours later no one had returned. I left a message for Shane and he texted back at 7.34pm saying that it would be collected in the morning.
It was really good to get his text and he picked it up at 8.00am. Good service- He actually said what he said he would do.
The guys on Friday night should have phoned and said " sorry delayed and will pick up tomorrow"
Good service is about keeping people informed and doing what you say you will do OR explaining why there is a change.
Delivery to Auckland was at expected time with a phone call 1 Hour before delivery
