We were very happy. The job was done quickly and efficiently and with care and consideration. Many thanks.
The guys who packed my stuff badly damaged my sideboard. It's been banged in two places reminding the laminate and the legs on one side fell off. Additionally they also damaged my master bed and the legs are almost broken. Quite disappointing to be honest.
Aside from that the operations team where great in fitting me in and the guys that delivered the goods to my house did an amazing job. They were very polite to me and friendly with my young son. One also went to the shop and bought me a drink with his own money cause it was stinking hot.

The amount of damage to items is the reason for the low rating. I have done 3 moves over the past 18 months (this is the second with Conroys) and this is far and away the worst.
the first move with Conroys had no damage, the second move and storage with another company had damage to 4 items (minor).
this move had damage to approx 20+ items and then damage to the property when moving in.
the move also took longer as boxes were not labeled correctly which has meant unpacking was difficult eg couch cushions were found in a box labeled bathroom and a sentimental large size photo was found scrunched up in a box with bathroom products (it had been in the office so unsure why this happened).
In regards to the movers on site 3/4 were fantastic, polite and careful, one wasn't careful and just put boxes down where he felt like which has meant a lot more time subsequently moving boxes by us and also caused damage to the property.
I would be nervous to put items into storage again if it was being unpacked off the truck and put into storage as I believe this is where the damage occurred. I would use Conroys for a straight move as the delivery team was overall very good.
Great
Kolby and the team were great, easy to deal with and moved everything over without any fuss.
There was a slight hick up with the packing and a few people calling in sick, but was all sorted by getting Kolby back another day to finsih it off.
Excellent
The whole team were excellent particularly Grant in Nelson. Thanks for accommadating our requests
The start-to-finish service was pretty good. There were a couple of hitches which were fixed fairly promptly. However, while the pack-out included 4 people to do the job, the unpacking in Oamaru was done by only three - two Convoy people and me. I had not intended to help with the unpacking but i couldn't stand by and let only 2 people unpack an entire container crate. This also meant that I was not able to provide the direction needed, which meant that some stuff had to be moved later. It also meant that by the end of the unload I was exhausted. Given the amount paid, it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect 3 or 4 local people to help with the load. Also, some of our stuff did not arrive until the day after, and only one convoy worker was expected to do the final load. Again, this meant that my husband was expected to help. I don't mind unloading some stuff, but because you under-resourced the job, you therefore pushed both workers and clients to do an unreasonable amount of heavy lifting. I would rather pay a little more to ensure I had engaged a good employer than expect a few to do the hard yards. The men who drove the trucks and carried our stuff did an exceptional job in good humour and I would recommend them for further work. I suggest you resource your jobs with enough people so they are not exhausted. You will break your good workers if you carry on like this. It is not fair to expect them to work this hard. I hope they are paid well and/or get free physio or massages.
