We found the removal workers very friendly and obliging but unfortunately we later found one of our boxes of china had been dropped.The corner of the box was smashed in and the china was all broken. This included part of a very valuable coffee set which has been in the family for generations. i wonder why we were not shown the broken box before I signed the delivery off. We still have some unpacking to do but so far everything else is fine. Hard to rate until this problem is dealt with.

Very good the movers most polite and very efficient really very helpful and just got on with the job, and very helpful when i requested that they be careful with one item of furniture

To list all the things that went wrong would take forever but the main things were a 3 tiered filing cabinet where 2 of its 3 doors damaged beyond repair, a cd rack also damaged (not packed properly), scrapings on a riimu dining table - exposed leaning up against container wall, I had to ask the guys to put a blanket over it. Same with 2 leather Lazy boys, scraped down each arm. Things were packed carelessly on the last minute as they were obviously running over time - we found the TV remote in amongst the garden tools! We even found a plastic 2 ltr milk container about a quarter full of milk wrapped and packed in the kitchen box! Rancid after 4 days of course. We've had several removals but never in such a haphazard way - no inventory on arrival to ensure all boxes were accounted for. The guys worked well & were very helpful but it was obvious they were under pressure time wise & that definately affected the service. One final point is when the guys packed up on day one, they literally got in the van leaving all the packing paper, boxes etc exactly where they had left them in the house, mainly around the entrance to the kitchen. I offered to let them store it all in the garage for day 2 but got no response which left us to have to put everything away overnight. This is absolute basic health & safety.
So no, sorry it wasn't a great experience for us and there were other minor things but these were the main issues.

Rick and Megan were our movers and despite the atrocious weather all day, they never complained or let it get in the way of what needed to be done. They went about their business professionally and methodically, were careful, courteous and hard working. We were surprised at how efficient they were and it certainly took a large burden off us. Thanks to Rick, Megan and Conroy's.

The guys who picked up our stuff and delivered it to our new house were great and helpful

Move took a couple of hours longer than I hoped but this was due to the solitcitors for the parties involved not your people but is still costly on a local removal. The other comment I must make is that the full insurance cover is not acceptable for a local move, the owner must do the packing but the terms and conditions of the policy exclude claims on owner packed items and the $250 excess on each item claimed really means that there is no coverage for a $600+ premium. Again this really reflects on your underwriters IAG's greed and avarice rather the yourselves.

Derek from christchurch was brilliant and helpful as usual. As I like Conroys ethos and of course efficiency always the only freight company I recommend when I travel all over New Zealand which am doing all the time keep it up.
