The two young men who undertook the move did a very slapdash job.   They didn't listen to instructions as to where to place items then got annoyed with me when Iasked for them to be moved to the location I had requested in the first place.     They didn't use any common sense, and placed furniture without placing the floor rugs first (in spite of my having reminded them to place the rug first).   They screwed a bedhead on back to front in spite of it being clearly marked as to how it should go.   The quote included wrapping glass table tops, but this was not done and one sheet of glass was badly cracked.   They advised that this had happened, but made no offer to have anything done about it.   They left a very heavy mattress off a divan on the floor for me to lift on to the base.   They did't finish the job on the appointed day.   I indicated that the following morning would be fine with me, but no-one turned up.   I rang the company mid morning and Amanda undertook to find out when they would return.   An hour or so later another employee advised that he would be coming to finish the job.   He was very obliging and did all that was required.

On the first day I had offered the two young men $20 cash to bring a divan bed and headboard box up to the garage, as it was not included in the quote.   I had given it to elderly friends who had arranged to collect it, but we would have trouble getting it to the garage to load.   I was at the new address when they finished and paid them the $20, only to discover the following day that they had only brought the bed base and not the headboard.   The whole experience made a stressful time of moving much more stressful than it needed to be.   I await your advice as to what will be done about the broken glass table.

I have mixed feelings on my on move from Wellington to Christchurch. The price quoted was very good. Graeme & Jo in Wellington were great as was Amanda in Christchurch. So for the things that didn't go so well. There was an issue with the garage door being damaged in Wellington however you resolved this by paying the bill. Also you could of packed things a little better, an example of this is some small delicate ornaments were just put inside drawers, luckily no damage or breakage. The odd box wasn't labelled properly & some items were difficult to find i.e bed legs & screws. I feel also at times communication coil of been better. On the agreed day of delivery in Christchurch we were advised to expect arrival between 8-8.30 however it didn't happen until after 10. A simple phone call to advise of this delay would have been the appropriate course of action. This would of also been appreciated in regard to delay in the furniture arriving in Christchurch. From what I was told it didn't arrive until the day before delivery. Bearing that in mind I believe the storage fee I paid is a bit much as in reality it was only in storage 1 day so shouldn't the fee be adjusted?
