"We were surprised"
We were surprised at the length of time it took to load the truck. The labour supplied was not helpful to the driver in charge of the truck. It took him seven hours to load and the help hired from Allied Labour were totally out of their depth. The bulk of the work was done by the driver and the two 'boys' supplied didnt amount to one other. Then another truck arrived and took one of the boys away and the driver was left with one lad who really didnt have a clue. I ended up helping load and if I hadnt we would most likey taken the driver another two or three hours. I have mentioned this to someone and their response was we can't control who Allied send. I suggested that Conroys should be more specific as to whom is suitable for the work and support hard working drivers who do a fantastic job. Conroys moved me to Palmerston North 28 years ago, and now have moved me home to Napier for which I counldnt have done any other way. Thank you
"kept well informed"
I am absolutely delighted with Conroys removal services. From the outset I was kept well informed of the status of my consignment. Every member of the team from admin staff to the removal guys were efficient, courteous and professional. When I required an additional few days storage in Auckland this was arranged immediately. Based on my excellent experience with the move from Malaysia to NZ three weeks later when I needed to send a consignment from Christchurch to Auckland I did not bother even getting a quote from any other companies! The ChCh branch staff were exceptional. I got a quote within 24 hours and the staff problem solved the moving of a large statue as well. "added cost and stress to my move"
The truck arrived later than expected with one man down. It took 1-2 hours before a third man arrived. This resulted in a long day for all involved, with the load up running into the afternoon and the unload at the other end not finishing until early evening. There was also a number of breakages that was most disappointing; most reported but one found after the movers had left. I also had a non operational washing machine as the hoses between the basin and washing machine were left behind. All of these mishaps have added cost and stress to my move.
"lack of communication"
Packers, were great. Time management and lack of communication let our relocation down with both the pick up and delivery late arrivals by 1.5hrs. I ended up placing the boxes in each room to speed up the unload. Extra help did finally arrive but truck was two thirds empty by then. I would use Conroys again purely because of the excellent packing. Nothning of value was broken or damaged. The move was at a busy time of year nearing xmas but would have been more understanding if Conroys had communicated to us that they were running late instead of us having to chase them.

Somewhat ironic I received the feedback request today given how upset I currently am with Conroy.
When I made arrangements I specified that the delivery date was important to me (pre christmas, going on holiday, lots of other arrangements made). I was given a packing / removing date the week before. The furniture was uplifted as planned.
Friday I email Conroy to check all is ok and ask to confirm delievery time on the Tuesday. Am told all is ok and I will hear from the Christchurch office. Sunday evening I send an email to Chch office. Monday lunchtime no reply so I phone Chch to be told there is a problem and it turns out a (at least) 2 day delay in delivering my furniture. THe furniture is now (hopefully) to be delivered on the day I am going on holiday.
While I understand that there are challenges in shipping goods at present due to closures of SH1 between Picton and Chch, I fail to see why Conroy could not have notified me of the delay. I would have delayed arriving in Chch. I am now out of pocket hotel costs and have spent about $500 changing flights as I had also arranged for my mother to fly down to help me unpack.
Again, when I requested Conroy to shift the furniture, I was doing it requesting a date of delivery. I was happy for the uplift to be earlier. Fail.

There was confusion over the packing and pickup days. My initial discussions were for packing on one day, then removal the next day. The documentation came through for this, but I admit I didn't check it, thinking it would be what we discussed. I assumed that I would be phoned to advise if there were any changes to our original discussions. I organised a day off work for the packing day, and emailed early since I hadn't heard anything, only to be told the packing and removal were both scheduled for the following day.
The day of the move I was told that packers would be there at 8:00am, so I turned up just before 8:00am. No one arrived until 8:30am.
On the basis of the above I think communciation needs to be improved. Neither of the above were show stoppers for me, but they were fairly annoying. A simple and quick phonecall in either case would have been greatly appreciated.
The packing staff were excellent, polite and I was very happy with their service.
"don’t care about peoples property"
Truck turned up 1.5 hours late in Tauranga. We were told all furniture will be wrapped up in plastic, NO. IT WAS NOT. All boxes and furniture was supposed to be labelled, and an inventory was supposed to be taken. NO did not happen! Couch cushions were just thrown on the truck deck, and were jammed into holes. In the quote, we paid for 28 boxes, we were given 18. Were told the truck will arrive at destination between 2-4pm, It came from Napier, truck arrived at 6.30pm. (Paraparaumu) Fridge and washing machine scratched, on front of both. I hold the Management responsible. All you think about money, and don’t care about peoples property!!!

I am surprised to be getting a feedback request when the service we requested has not been provided yet. The pick up was not made on the day we had arranged and we have had no information about when the goods will arrive.
Our first contact with your company was through Hannah. Really good. she accurately predicted the cubic metres. I did phone a few times to clarify some details and was dealt with efficiently.
Our next contact was with your packers. Absolutely fantastic guys. Very efficient. You then stored our household goods for 3 nights and 2 days with no charge which was much appreciated. the truck then arrived at Pauanui right on time 9.30am. the boys were straight onto the job of unloading and only stopped for 15mins break and finished 1pm - hopped back into the truck and were off again. The packing of the items was such that there were no breakages - 1 small upstand on a desk was broken and another item was packed the wrong side down and had minor stratches on it. But they were extememly minor items and easily repaired.
I have been informed by the boys unloading the truck, that, when we have finished unpacking the boxes, to give the office a ring and your company will call in and collect the boxes. A question which I do need answering is - the packing paper. do you take this back as well?
Your quote was extemely competitive and we are extremely happy with the whole process. Not having moved in the last 40 years, we were very apprehensive about the procedure but your staff were very helpful and put our minds at ease. 10 Stars + from this very satisfied customer. thank you for the wonderful experience of efficient and hassle free moving.
