My initial dealings with Conroy were good, I was quoted a very reasonable price and the people I dealt with were pleasant. On the day of pick up the two men were friendly and professional. I asked if my keyboard could be wrapped securely otherwise I would take it with me in the car. I was assured that this would be fine and I left them to continue with their work.
On the day of drop off, once again the men were friendly but they were in a hurry and seemed not to take care with my items. When my keyboard was unloaded it was not wrapped and it had a broken piece off the front of it. My couch was covered in leaf matter as were some other items. I was very disappointed my possessions were not cared for.

"disappointed with our experience"
We chose Conroys because they were local and our contents were to be loaded straight onto a container so it wouldn't be double handed unlike other companies who have to transport to another region for shipping. We were not impressed when we were told that our contents would be loaded onto a truck and then reloaded onto a container later. We were happy to accept double handling in Australia due to quarantine but to have it happen in NZ as well added worry. We have had some damage to our goods and feel that some things were not adequately wrapped or boxed to ensure they would withstand double handling at both ends.
1. The fridge received dents on the rear right corner in 2 places (somewhat disappointing given it was virtually new).
2. The extendable dining table top was damaged with a wooden piece being cracked and broken which we suspect happened when it was de-extended during packing.
3. The book cartons were packed with too many heavy books. More wrapping should have occurred in the boxes to ensure the boxes made it to delivery. Boxes were coming apart when they arrived and it was clear they were over packed.
4. A mincer was packed into a book carton and this box was in pieces at delivery. This item should have been bubbled and boxed more securely. We are unable to ascertain any damage yet as we haven't had the opportunity to run it.
5. One of the bed side tables is damaged on the top with scratches and a dent in the wood that is 5 mm deep.
The bubble wrap was wripping and worn through on edges and corners on arrival. It did not live up to the assurances given. Furniture needed to have cardboard protection on edges as well as bubble wrapping.
Our other issue is with the prepack process. Our contents could have been packed and uplifted within 2 days or 2.5 tops. Instead, a whole day was lost with nothing being done and no personnel. We were not contacted about this absence until we rang asking what was happening. We found this very inconvenient as we were waiting around for hours for no reason and were unable to clean as our gear was left unorganised all through the house. We felt this was very inefficient. Our experience when moving from Australia to NZ was vastly different. OSS were extremely organized and efficient and record keeping was done as they packed in far more detail than the manner it was done by Conroys making our biosecurity clearance very easy.
Finally, we were not happy that our contents sat in NZ for 10 days after uplift. This made it a very rushed process getting through customs, quarantine and delivery at the Australian end which lead to more issues with handling. Whilst we got our furniture before Christmas, we were hoping it would have been a little earlier that 2 days before and felt it would have been had our container left earlier. We would like to know why it was held in Napier for so long.
We have photos of our damage which we would like to supply to support our feedback. Overall, we were quite disappointed with our experience.

The company went out of its way to help it certainly was a tricky time for us shifting from Kaikoura but Mark C made it all possible between Xmas and New Year. Driver Gordy excellent Steve and Rick all worked as a team. Our furniture was delivered the next day in Nelson once again cannot speak more highly about Gordy... great chat went out if his way. Thank you Conroys will most definitely recommend you.
