Great Removal Experience
Great house removal experience from Melbourne to Hamilton.
We only had a relatively minor communication issue on the day of delivery into our Hamilton home. This was addressed to our satisfaction by the Tauranga team. Thanks. Tony & Lee.

"moving team were outstanding"
The moving team were outstanding. Special mention must be made to the guy in charge who delivered our big screen television in the back of his car, which caused a bit of damage to his car. He needs a bonus for this. Great work Conroys.

Goods Not Unpacked
I will not use Conroy again as we received our house hold goods but no service was given to unpack or assemble our furniture, this was told 4 hours before our items where delivered. They said this was not possible because of waitangi day. I dont understand why you can not unpack our goods and take away our carton as promised while Waitangi day is still 4 days away. Their only concern Conroy shows is getting paid their invoice intime. I do not recommend Conroy as i did not receive service as accepected.
When MPI did the quarantine inspection Conroy did not have the pieces of our stuff ready that needed to be inspected. There was therefore another week delay as we waited for an MPI date. This was clearly an error from Conroy but noone clearly owned up to this or apologised. I had to call to ask directly to get a clear answer. On the day of the first MPI inspection, when I was told someone would let me know how it had gone, no one did. I called numerous times to try and find out what had happened and no one that knew anything got back to me. It was a Friday afternoon and my family was waiting in Australia to find out when our furniture would be delivered so they could book flights.
When we had to wait for a second inspection I asked if we could book in the move pending MPI clearance, given there had been a delay, but was told this was not process and could not happen. I found the number for the Wellington manager and when I got through to him he was able to do this easily. It felt like staff were not empowered or didn't know when to escalate things.
When we did finally get our stuff delivered the guys were about 40min late (which alone I wasn't worried about as I new the time was approx) then unloaded for an hour then took a 35-45min break before unpacking. They only seemed to start unpacking as I asked for a knife so I could start myself. They generally seemed tired and not very motivated. This was just frustrating as I'd had to take time off work and was stressed.
I know it's a busy time of year and everyone is busy and under pressure, but it still felt like Conroy could have done better, and look st having better systems in place. Some of the people we dealt with were lovely.
