Delivery went perfectly. All furniture was unwrapped and placed where we wanted it. Even our new headboards were fitted. Great service.

The Auckland pickup was excellent - the crew were friendly, professional, careful with my furniture, arrived within the time frame given, and communicated clearly. That made today’s experience in Christchurch even more disappointing.

I was told delivery would be between 1–4pm, but the truck didn’t arrive until around 5pm and I received no call or update to let me know they were running late. I had plans at 6pm that I ended up having to cancel because of this.

When the driver arrived he was extremely grumpy and frustrated about my street and driveway access. The interaction made me uncomfortable enough that I called a family member during the delivery because of how unhappy and concerned I was about the situation. The driver continued to complain about the access to my property and the amount of cars that were parked on the street. I ultimately ended up helping him back into my front neighbours’ driveway but he was noticeably disgruntled. 

The unloading crew then arrived separately and consisted of several young female staff members (university student age) who appeared very inexperienced with moving large furniture. Throughout the job they were extremely unhappy about having already delivered to the same street earlier in the day, having to return to the warehouse to get my items, and about how long their workday had been.  None of them introduced themselves and one of them seemed more preoccupied with charging her phone in my property than demonstrating good customer service. They complained frequently about “working 12 hour days” and that they were tired. 

I tried to be sympathetic - I work in healthcare and understand long, difficult shifts. However, I still expected a far higher level of professionalism from a moving company and after my incredible experience in Auckland, expected much better from Conroy Removals. 

I had to help them get my queen bed base upstairs, and after they were unable to manoeuvre it into either bedroom they told me I would need to buy a new one (the exact line she used was “yeah you’re going to have to buy a split base. There’s no way that base is going in there.) rather than trying alternative ways to get it in. After they left, I actually managed to get the bed base into the room myself and then had to move the mattress upstairs on my own too.  

During unloading, multiple walls and corners were bumped and scratched, and the crew repeatedly complained about their long day and hours, which made the whole experience uncomfortable as a customer. 

By the end of the delivery I felt hurried and as though they did not want to be there, which is why I asked them to place everything in the lounge so I could sort it myself rather than continue under that pressure.

I’m really disappointed with the level of service I received in Christchurch, particularly given the cost of the move and the professional standard I expected based on the Auckland team. I would appreciate an explanation for what happened with the Christchurch delivery and consideration for a partial refund as I’m extremely disappointed with the service on the Christchurch end of my delivery. I was recommended Conroy Removals by family members and have experienced incredible service in the past - this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth and I am hesitant to use your company again. 

From Scott coming to our property to give us a quote, to Rachel in the office and all the delivery teams we had outstanding service. Rachel was amazing with her ability to help us with all requests. The delivery guys in Auckland, Sau, George and Moni were exceptional and Drew and Che who delivered to our Taupo address were absolutely brilliant also. We were delighted with the service we received from start to finish and had no breakages whatsoever. We would certainly highly recommend Conroy Removals to others as an exemplary, cost-effective option for relocations.

The delivery from your warehouse to our home was great. Barry and his mate worked hard in very humid and hot conditions. Everything perfectly unpacked and reassembled. Many thanks.
