The service started out okay, but soon deteriorated. Communication from the Auckland office was poor, with emails missing information, no clear direction of the steps involved in clearing to delivering our items. The staff packing our furniture drop items and some of our furniture/whiteware has been damaged. We did have some friendly staff at different points but this was overshadowed by the unclear communication and damage to our possessions. We are still waiting for a motorcycle key to be delivered as this apparently was left in the Sydney Warehouse. I certainly won’t be recommending Conroys to anyone else.

Your 2 employees Quentin and Joe were a pleasure to work with and their attention to detail was superb.
"The house move went perfectly"
The house move went perfectly, the guys arrived before time due to rain which worked out great as we had to hand keys over much earlier than expected. The team were quick, professional, careful and friendly so 5 star.
We decided not to choose insurance for the move after a previous sour experience moving my sons student stuff to Christchurch with Conroys. I wont rake up past problems but enough to say this experience kind of redeemed Conroys in our view. I would recommend Conroys but with some points of caution on the insurance terms.

From the moment we dropped the trailer off it had been a disaster. My Mrs left her wallet on the trailer inside your loading shed in Melb, it got taken out of there & the couple hundred $ cash taken from it in, then chucked on the footpath out front of loading yard & office. I always asked for a drop off to Melb, delivery from Conroy to Dunedin. I was never given any paper work or quotes that said Melb to Christchurch. All the paper work I was sent were invoices saying that the delivery would be to Dunedin. Not once did I receive a quote saying Melb to Christchurch until I was told I had to pick the trailer up from Christchurch. From leaving our goods supposedly in trusted hands, to have my Mrs money stolen & then to not be completely filled in on depot to depot information. I won't be recommending Conroy to anyone & I'll be making sure any of my family or friends that are coming & going from Oz or NZ won't be using Conroy either.

A good careful pack and shift. Nothing broken. Except the entire contents of my fridge and freezer plus a 6 piece dinner set were left behind!

The removal men were good to have in the house and the communication prior to payment was good. It all went downhill from there, though the men that delivered my furniture were good. When the items were delivered there were scratches on my custom made dining table (which I now have to get fixed), dents and scratches on the front the new fridge, major scratches on the front of my near new washing machine (looks like they tried to remove the dryer off the washing machine with excessive force) and they had put the wire shelving on top of my leather couch and boxes on top of that which left indents in the couch which remain to this day. The removal men also packed up my kitchen items and only one box was labelled "kitchen". Not at all helpful. I raised this with Conroy and was told that as I didn't have insurance cover with them it wasn't their problem. Furthermore, the removal men were very experienced. Why would experienced removal men put wire shelving on top of the couch and boxes on top of that I have no idea, among the other damaged caused. I have not raised a number of other issues like leaving the kitchen detergent bottle and other bottles not sealed correctly so they leaked through the boxes, broken kitchen items, and scratches to some of my more older items. None of the items had moved in transit. I was asked to take photos, and the delivery men had already taken some (on a couple of the items), but given the nature of the damage (dark on dark/light on light) it is not able to be clearly photographed. I suggested that they come to my property to inspect but they have not done so. Had I read the reviews and not listened to the inital hype like "that's a nice leather suite, we will take good care of that" I would not have used them. Although I am tempted to take this matter further I suspect it will be a costly exercise and exhaust too much energy for little return.
There was a minor communication problem at the beginning, but overall the goods were packed extremely well and delivered within the time frame specified. I was however dissapointed with Customs - Australia, when my goods were inspected as they did not reseal items checked, to me that is unprofessional as they still have a duty of care.
The staff at Conroys were very good informing myself via email of where the goods were at at all times and I thank them greatly for that service.
