I was very angry as I was not told by using a container that it could sit for up to 5 to 7 days in Auckland before delivery. I just assumed same day delivery.
I got rung by operations, as the form you have to fill in had my same day delivery response.
" we do not do same day delivery" my response ok well next day would be fine. Again No. I was fuming as I had you transporting my prize Bromeliad collection, rare and hard to get. So sitting in a container for days and Summer would kill them.
So I said when were you planning. They go we have to work it out. Seriously as pick up was next day. Foolishly I had raised getting another container as I only had been enquiring about pick up.
Operations then said they would hold 1st container until 2nd and deliver. Well my anger levels returned and I said do you really think I'm happy paying another $3k for you to deliver both on the same truck when 1st quote was about one truck costs. Told them to forget it I wasnt going to pay $6k and have dead plants delivered.. I was then td they would get back to me on a delivery date for 1st container.
I recieve the call and they would be delivered on the 3rd day. Not happy but nothing I could do.
I then get a call nxt day from driver who tells me he cant deliver that day and that he told operations but would be the following day..(4 days in the container)
So I was deliberately lied to.
In terms of the guys who loaded the container, I have no issues, they worked hard, if anything I felt sorry for them as just a wooden plank to load as I had about 50 big pots some over $500 each. Same when they delivered no issues. Only 1 pot broke which I can accept.
The good news with my 2nd delivery of plants. Is I managed to find another company " Plants on the move" truck set up for plants with removable shelving so able to go up high. Plus next day delivery. This guy was so careful and genuinely concerned that he protected them and no breakage. To the extent he took 4hrs to load. He even put my absolute prize bromeliads 3 of them ( only 2 in the country) in his cab on the passenger seat. Delivery no breakage and no squashed plants.
Conclusion: it should be made very clear no same day and that delivery can take 5 to 7 days. When Rep meets to assess.
Plants can not sit in containers in summer for that length of time. Even if you open the doors.
Dont know if you do that with a truck? Sit in a depot . But if not, like next day delivery then that would be the better option.
I am selling my house so I was on a deadline to remove and redo my existing garden so photographer could come for all the marketing material..Well I ended up delayed 2 weeks.
So No not a happy customer. Being lied to is unacceptable.
No issues at any stage - efficient quoting and booking system, the guys turned up and picked up our furniture on time, and they communciated well prior to delivery and turned up on time as well. Nothing was damaged, and the guys were pleasant and helpful. Would defintely use Conroys again.
The packers and loaders worked their butts off to complete our move. It was very unfortunate that whoever estimated the size of job and the time it would take to do it, greatly underestimated the task. It was a full large household pack. The first day one packer came instead of two because of sickness. The second day, three were sent for the morning with a fourth arriving in the afternoon after our chief packer basically begged for more help. With the help of the homeowner and adult son both packing and loading, the job was finally finished at 7.20 pm after a start time of 7.50 am. Despite knowing we had 48cubic metres, a truck capable of taking 40 c m was sent. The despatcher had said the truck could make two trips - not feasible when it took about 4 hours to load and 4 to unload. The chief packer finallly got another smaller truck sent. A 3rd truck was sent for the driver to help also. Because it was so late in the day when the loading was completed, our loads could not be delivered until the next morning. Just as well we had another place to sleep and a suitcase of clothes etc to cover us for the first night.
We have said we would use Conroys again and recommend them but that is only because their staff went above and beyond what they had to do. In our opinion, the estimator caused us a lot of grief and anxiety on what was already going to be a stressful time.
The movers were very friendly and helpful, customer service reprepresentativery replies fast and efficiently. But the only things that was not met was the size of the truck that we requested. We requested for a small one sending pictures why we need a small truck but still a big one arrived. When we arrived at the destination, the truck didn't fit and needed to getga smaller one (that was able to hold all our belongings) but of course the time is ticking and was charged to us. When I pointed this out to the customer reprepresentat they said that the pictures provided was not sufficient. Even though we highighted numerous times that we needed a small truck and one is available as well. All that been said everything else is in order so we would recommend them for big moving jobs
I really appreciated the friendly, kind way the boys, right from the packers to the delivery men, made my "big move" so easy. They are a great bunch of guys.

Over all it was a very good shift compared to others I have had in the past. A desk leg is broken off, the front of a bedside table drawer is broken off, a hall stand has a mark on the top of it, one of the men bumped a tallboy with a boxotterman, causing a mark, and a dress with artificial leather along the bottom has been ripped by being placed on top of coathangers. The men in Tauranga and Christchurch worked very hard, and were very oblidging. I expect that sometimes items get broken while shifting, it seems unavoidable. The only thing I would recommend for improvement would be hanging boxes for clothing. All my clothes were terribly creased and had to be washed or steamed to get the creases out. In Tauranga I left my medication for the day on the bench and it was packed. Packers should ask questions about medications before packing them. Also I had items with a note on, DO NOT PACK, and they were packed. The TV remote, and stand, for the TV I left for the new owner. I now have to courier her the remote. The note was plain to see. I am just telling you these things for improvement. I am very pleased with the shift. The men worked very hard, and were very pleasant. I would definately recommend your company, and should we shift north once more we, would use your company again.
your team delivering the goods to my place was fabulous.
The two guys were. efficient and polite. Hope they are paid well.
