"Very straight forward"
Very straight forward to obtain a quotation, book shipping and arrange pick-up. Clear communication with all the right information about customs, etc. The cost of shipping was very competitive, but arranged my own insurance separately as that was a little expensive.
4 Star Move
We are very pleased with the whole experience except for the breakage of a large ern which had important sentimental value, and leather damage to a tub chair. Damage to both items was easily avoidable and your Tauranga driver needed to take more care. This has tainted an otherwise impressive performance.
"all in all very nice experience"
Only downside of the move so far were some minor breakages (nothing special) and that we still have some packaging waiting to be picked up (with a promise from the team to pick it up within the week) (so no complaints there either.

only recommendation I can make for overseas moves is to hand out the customs notices and questionnaires before the packing happens (but that is probably outside your control)
"couple of things that could have been improved"
There are a couple of things that could have been improved. The communication was prompt but the delivery was a bit delayed, however I do understand that can happen. The guys did not open the shipment whereas when I booked it I had been told that the removal company will unpack and remove the debris. It could simply be a problem at the UAE end but I had rated the services overall.

Overall happy with experience, second time with Conroys in last 12 mths, came to Conroys because of poor service with other company previous. Felt a little let down with this move from first time, I feel content amount was underestimated as truck was chocker, if I had not sold dining room table and 8 chairs prior to shift not sure what would have happened. As a result some cardboard boxes had burst in transit due to pressure and the way they were jammed in, only transported two live plants both of which received considerable damage. On unload was able to view how truck was packed and some of it did not impress me, eg. go to the extent to pay for export wrap on quality leather lounge suite to find one piece near bottom of truck on its side with heavy boxes on top so that all the weight going on armrest. P/U and unload staff were all personable guys however did discuss with unload guys that there was a lot going into the garage in boxes and some boxes were really heavy and although I was assured they were sorting them out so nothing getting crushed this was not the case, more boxes beginning to burst under weight, two heavy boxes put on top of chest freezer squeezing lid seals unnecessarily etc. This is frustrating as the sorting of the garage is the last thing on my list of priorities.
Damage found so far, broken handle to set of cupboards (not a biggy), timber headboard has received deep gouges x 3 all above the matress line and will be subject of insurance claim.
However, overall, still would come to Conroys for moving needs, staff seem to have a real buy in to the company and talk positively and tend to meet customer concerns.
"Frustrating when all else so good"
At pickup and re-delivery, keeping the customer up to the minute as to when packers will arrive or movers will arrive to deliver furniture, requires more sincere attention. At both times more than half a day was spent ready and waiting and not able to do other things because of so-called imminent arrivals which didn't happen. Frustrating when all else so good!.
"well packaged"
We did arrange an unpack at our end (delivery) when we shipped from australia but unfortunately wasn't advised to staff. They were very helpful and helped what they could. Items were very well packaged with very little damage and also in good condition besides washing machine mouldy as would be expected there was little mould at all The items were stored for approx a year and half! There was confussion at the start of last year in regards to who to contact and pay for the storage but was sorted and jade was lovely to deal with. Thanks

"overall it was very smooth and by schedule"
This is the first time I'm using a relocation services, overall it was very smooth and by schedule. All items arrived with no harm, the staff are friendly and helpful. One thing that I was expecting but did not happen is to have an agent updating me on weekly basis on the status, instead I was calling all the time asking for updates. In addition on my home country there was an issue that the original booking for the ship was cancelled 3 days before packing day despite it was confirmed previously. I found my self fighting with the company to find a solution which finally someone else besides the assigned agent was able to find a different shipping company to carry over my container. In such cases I would expect the agent to be fully committed to find a solution even before contacting me where in reality he even did not answer my calls. Despite that it was a good experience.
I would like to thank the Conroy team at Tauranga and Napier for packing and delivering my valued household items. It was obvious the packers take great pride in their job as the packing (on the whole) was suberb. I would suggest that bottles containing liquid aren't packed on their side though. One area that could be looked at was the conflicting emails I got from the office staff regarding payment for my stored items. But these were quickly resolved when I queried anything.
