"you do a difficult job very well"
Good service but lacking communication
My first impression with Conroy was meeting Nathan at our Napier apartment, who had a look around and generated our quote, nice guy. At this time, we hadn't found a place and so he ticked the storage option. About a week later, we found a place in Lower Hutt, and I accepted the quote and insurance, filling out the forms online. I was under the impression we would move the same day and this was reflected on the online form. I paid in person at the head office in Napier and confirmed with the receptionist our new address and also the fact we would be moving house the same day. When the movers came and had everything loaded up, they said it would be delivered some time the next day. I called dispatch and the gentleman told me there was no way that would happen, and he would call me back. After waiting over an hour, I called back and he said they would deliver it tomorrow at 1PM. This mucked up our plans a bit. Luckily, my partner was already staying in Tawa close by so we stayed there for the night. The next morning, I get a call from Lester asking me, "how'd you like to have it delivered at 11AM?" I said that would be great, the sooner the better. He said he'd call me back to confirm as he wasn't entirely sure this could happen. I never heard from him again. I thought I'd play it safe and drive over to our new place just before 11 and sure enough the moving truck was already in the driveway. Again, we were not communicated with.

Hello, and good afternoon. Our shipment has been delivered however my great grandmothers dining room table is not in the shipment. The chairs are here, the table base is here, but the top is not here nor on your inventory list I have been emailed from the trucker. We know it was picked up in our storage area in Waipukurau because I have photos of what was taken. However they loaded all of our stuff loose and did not inventory it on site I was told you inventory at your warehouse and our stuff was shipped in a shared container. So our question is our table still in your warehouse or where is it. It is a family heirloom and would be devastated if it is lost.
The table top would be about 4 foot X 8 foot . We are continuing to go through the boxes you packed to see if anything else is missing, bit for the time being please touch base with us asap.
"Very happy with your service"
Very happy with your service and communication in both countries. The only thing that could be improved, would be the removal. I found one member of the team in New Zealand a bit rough with handling the boxes.
"This is the fourth time I have used Conroy's"
This is the fourth time I have used Conroy's and as always am very happy with the service. Unfortunately the truck was too big to enter the premises which made it more time consuming to load. It was recommended that in future such a job could be scoped prior to the date to ensure ease of access. The two removal men (Trevor and Cody) were excellent - polite, obliging and very careful with the handling and stacking of the effects.

The 79 boxes arrived safely in Wellingt6on. Two were split but not badly and no contents damaged.

I had an issue on the insurance. Your options indicate that I do not have to take your storage insurance, however when I opted out, it meant that my longhaul insurance was automatically cancelled by ending at the 1st point of stopping, which is AKL and not the end destination. This seems inorrect, confusing and missleading, who would pay nearly a $1000.00 insurance to have your goods transported a few kms! Nick, your AKL manager was kind enough to have sorted this for me.
We really enjoyed Enoka and Una who loaded our goods, however the very last row of goods packed was a box marked with crockery (marked fragile) and at the bottom and everything else was loaded on top of this box. I took a picture just before Enoka closed the door and saw this on the photograph, so I do not expect much will be in one piece when we get to the other side. Lastly, I would have expected the seal of the container to be placed on the doors in my presence and not when the guys get back to your AKL depot.
Overall, it has been a good experience, thank you!
"a few recommendations"
Just a few recommendations. We think that the customer is asked to sign the form too early for confirmation that all their goods have arrived in good condition. How do you know nothing is broken in the many boxes, yet to be unpacked? We did find a few items broken after unpacking them. Some delicate items not packed as well as expected.

My apologies for the lengthy delay in giving you feedback...over the past few days has been the first time I have seen any of my belongings since they put into storage while I was still driving south.
My first & subsequent contact with you until move day was perfectly fine.
However, things got a little confused over the last 24hrs or so prior to the truck coming to collect everything.
I've not given a 5* rating because no-one seemed to know exactly how the goods were being transported...initially by truck, then by truck to a local yard to go onto another truck, possibly sharing a load, then by rail and back through the discussion again.. I gave up asking. Fortunately I had a contact in Paraparaumu to meet the truck and guide them to the storage unit etc.
Other than that confusion, I am completely happy with the shift. Aside from a couple of minor scratches on the fridge/freezer absolutely nothing has any damage. Nothing was lost in transit.

"We could not have asked for better service"
The service from the very experienced Gary (driver of the truck) as the team leader on the job, Mick with his experienced and very skillful bubble wrapping of our grand piano and other items of furniture and also Kane who joined when we arrived at our destination, was outstanding. Also the several other men who were part of the operation at both ends, were (with one small exception) superb in both their attitude and performance. The unfortunate provision of an unsuitably made crate for our concert grand piano created substantial difficulties and considerably added to our stress. The way in which Gary, Mick and Kane handled this very difficult situation was excellent, given the very real difficulties this poorly made crate added to the job. With the total job taking much longer than anticipated (at both ends) and presenting unexpected challenges, the provision of extra required labour and special equipment (tail lift trucks) and the necessary additional time was all organised quietly and efficiently without further adding to our stress. Full marks to Conroys for doing everything possible to overcome the difficulties and complete the whole removal successfully. We could not have asked for better service during the actual removal and unloading.
"The guys did a really good job"
The guys did a really good job. Easy to talk to and seemed happy in there work. There were three draws in the pantry and stuff in the laundry missed. On a whole very happy and will recomend to friends if they are moving.
Everyone we dealt with was friendly and efficient, Henry in the Christchurch office,was very helpful and sorted out all my problems. Two minor concerns still to be resolved. Wallpaper damage at 112b and a broken glass top. I'm sure this will be sorted. The two ladies I dealt with in Napier were very patient and helpful once they knew I was elderly, with poor eyesight and only had limited internet skills.I can't think of any ways you could improve your service,it seems to me that you do a difficult job very well.
